Home > Changing A SRM-04 Series Nozzle

This is a video about the SRM-04, Hunter’s shortest-range rotor, designed to be an alternative to spray heads. We’re going to discuss a few of the features of this rotor and show you how to change out a nozzle and make some adjustments. I’m Dwayne Smith. Your Sprinkler Warehouse Product Specialist.
Let’s get started.

Features Of Hunter SRM Series Nozzles

The SRM-04 is a mini rotor with lower flow rates and a shorter range, 15 to 30 feet, which makes it an excellent alternative to spray heads. This rotor is perfect for small backyards and smaller landscaped areas. And the SRM-04 can be used alongside larger rotors in the same zone. So if you have an odd zone that has a larger landscaped area combined with a smaller one, some SRMs could be your solution. It has a half-inch 4 like most spray heads, and the popup height is four inches. You can adjust the arc on the SRM-04 from 40 to 360 degrees. This rotor comes with this set of nozzles.

Adjustments are made using this Hunter Rotor tool. Let’s talk about the various adjustments. Underneath the identifier, the tab is where you set your Range Adjustment Screw. This is the pull-up socket. This is the arc Adjustment Socket. Let’s go take a look at one that’s been installed.

How To Replace A Hunter Nozzle

We’ll begin by replacing a nozzle. Put the plastic part of the Hunter tool down in the pull-up socket.
Turn and lift. If the nozzle tab is locked down you may have to pry it up with the Rotor tool. If the range adjustment screw is down too far you may have to back that out before you can remove the nozzle. In this case, it’s not down too far so the nozzle comes right out. Hold onto the nozzle and pull straight forward to get it out. Push in the new nozzle.

The identifier tab should snap down like this. To adjust your spray distance, pry up the identifier tab. And use the hunter tool to turn the range adjustment screw. Let’s set the arc. I’m turning the turret back and forth to see how the arc is set. To increase the arc put the plastic end of the rotor tool in the arc adjustment socket and turn clockwise. To decrease turn counterclockwise. And that is the Hunter SRM-04. Order some SRMs today on SprinklerWarehouse.com.
