Alfred Castillo here, the Sprinkler Warehouse pro. Let’s talk about goof plugs.
What Is A Goof Plug?
If you purchased a drip kit, you might have found these little doodads in there. These are goof plugs. If the kit you’re ordering doesn’t have them. You should get a package of them. They’re cheap and highly useful. They look similar to a connector or barb coupling; however, they have the opposite effect, in that their purpose is to stop water flow. The obvious difference is the lack of a hole through the center.
Installing A Goof Plug
Let’s install a few. This is a standard hole meant for a coupling. So, if you make a hole in the wrong area, you just pop in the smaller end of the goof plug like this. Now, if you decide to remove a button emitter, or maybe a micro tubing connector, you may need to use the larger end since the hole is a bit mangled. These are also effective for capping off the end of a microtubing run like so.
