Let’s face it. If we are doing our job and helping you to water properly, your lawn should be growing healthy and strong!
So, we did a little research and consulted with some friends who are experts in the lawn health department and came up with a few guidelines to share with you. Below is a chart that explains when you should be mowing your grass.
What time of day is the best to mow?
After waking up? Early morning is the worst time of day to mow your yard. Heavy dew can cause the grass to clog the mower. The wheels on your mower can cause the grass to mat down and will not be cut.
After breakfast? The optimal time of day to mow your yard is in the morning after the dew has dried. This will allow the grass sufficient time to heal before nightfall. It is also a more comfortable time to mow because the mid-day heat has not come on yet.
After lunch? Mid-afternoon is the next best time of day to mow. The later in the day the better. The heat of the day is hard on the grass, however, so it’s best to find the balance between the heat and giving the grass enough time to heal before nightfall.
After dinner? While it may be the most comfortable time of day to mow because it is starting to cool off, mowing in the evening does not give the grass the time it needs to heal. When grass is not given time to heal, it is susceptible to mold and fungus.
